This course is suitable for students who want to work in a variety of fields related to education, including learning support or education administration, and could also lead to postgraduate studies in teaching or psychology; the course draws together the diverse aspects of education studies into 1 programme; the course explores contemporary theories of child development and learning, as well as practical approaches to teaching; it enables the student to evaluate and understand current and historical theories, policies and approaches of educationalists, sociologists and psychologists; this theoretical knowledge puts the student in a position to provide the most effective education to their future students; the student has the opportunity to engage in 2 work placements in the 1st 2 years of the course, and conduct their own research throughout the programme.
