A bachelor’s degree from a university, equivalent to the level of a Dutch academic bachelor’s degree Knowledge, understanding and skills comparable to those acquired upon graduation from the Bachelor’s programme in Philosophy at Leiden University. Specifically applicants should: be able to formulate a clear philosophical research question. be able to formulate their own critical philosophical positions and argue for these coherently. have substantive knowledge of ethics and political philosophy and their history Sufficient command of English (IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 100 (internet-based) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE).

The central topic of Ethics and Politics specialisation of the one-year Master’s in Philosophy concerns moral, political and social philosophy. This course aims at a thorough philosophical reflection on the fundamental normative principles of individual action and human society. You will focus particularly on the intersection between normative philosophy and other disciplines, such as neuroscience, psychology, the social sciences and law. In addition, courses are offered on ‘meta questions’ relating to the nature and the status of normative discourse and practices.

Wageningen University is in Wageningen, a historic town in the centre of the Netherlands. Several bus companies serve the area and the local train station is 8 km north of the town.Most international students arrive via Schiphol airport wherefrom there is a train link to Ede-Wageningen station. The university is then reachable by bus or taxi.
