All the modules on this programme are core; school experience is an important part of each year. Level 1: Modules are: Concepts in modern languages teaching 1; acquiring skills in modern languages 1; teaching and learning; introduction to maths education; introduction to Key Stages 2 and 3 English; introduction to core science; exploring the foundation subjects; the student spends 7 weeks in a primary school, 1 week in a secondary school; level 2: concepts in modern languages teaching 2; acquiring skills in modern languages 2; becoming the complete teacher; developing maths education; developing Key Stages 2 and 3 English; developing core science; embedding the foundation subjects; the student spends 7 weeks in a secondary school, 1 week in a primary school; level 3: contemporary issues in modern languages; teaching and learning; the Key Stages 2 and 3 interface; learning management; what and why? investigation; extending mathematics education; extending Key Stage 2 and 3 English; extending core science; the student spends 6 weeks in a primary school, 6 weeks in a secondary school.

This degree programme prepares the student for work in junior schools (Key Stage 2) and secondary schools (Key Stage 3); the student is able to act as a generalist or a specialist teacher of their chosen subject, or a combination of both; by having a unique insight into the challenges of progression and continuity that exists between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, the student is well equipped to act as a link teacher able to liaise with and build relationships between secondary schools and feeder primary schools; satisfactory completion of assessment confers Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Расположение

LJMU – процветающий, оживленный университет, расположенный в центре города Ливерпуль. Университету принадлежат три кампуса: кампусы City и Mount Pleasant, расположенные в центре Ливерпуля и кампус IM Marsh, расположенный приблизительно в 6,4 км (4 милях) к югу от центра города. В городе Ливерпуль хорошо развита система общественного транспорта (паромы, такси, автобусы и метро).
