Level 1: Core modules include: introduction to computer science; programming; essential mathematics for computing; computer systems architecture; organisations; structures; management and information. Levels 2-3: Modules include: information systems analysis; algorithms and data structures data modelling and database systems; operating systems; network technology; formal methods of specification; software architecture; software engineering for computer science; plus a choice from a further 30 computing modules including: real-time embedded systems; concurrent systems; artificial intelligence; programming the internet; object-oriented concepts and design; neural computing; graphics and imaging; language design and implementation; optional paid work placement prior to level 3.
