Students study various ethical approaches and traditions as they are applied in biomedical, healthcare and wider health-related contexts; alongside theories of social explanation and human rights relevant to bioethical dilemmas; the course focuses on the teaching and learning of culturally competent bioethics; students explore bioethics through an engagement with value diversity and issues of social justice and health and human rights in plural social and cultural contexts.
