The course aims are: To develop creative writing in a variety of forms including fiction, poetry, life writing, mixed media, performance, prose poetry, scriptwriting, and mixed genres; acquire the critical and theoretical knowledge, and develop the practical skills, to provide thoughtful critique of creative writing; gain both practical and theoretical knowledge of the publishing industry; develop research, writing, and communication skills applicable to work in publishing, academia, teaching, and other related fields such as journalism, law, and librarianship; complete a creative dissertation that demonstrates originality, innovation, and expertise in the crafting of at least one form, with the aim of publication or performance.
