This course examines the psychological influences on how people stay healthy; and the prevention and management of illness; this course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as providing stage1 of the training to become a chartered health psychologist; the course develops students' practitioner skills, and a range of professional, research and transferable skills; students examine: health-related behaviour; stress and illness; epidemiology of health and illness; biological mechanisms of health and disease; chronic illness; healthcare contexts and health promotion and interventions; students learn how health psychologists apply psychological research and methods to the promotion and maintenance of health; the prevention and management of illness; the identification of psychological factors contributing to physical illness; the improvement of the health care system and the formulation of health policy.

Расположение

Пять кампусов располагаются в Северном Лондоне. Главный кампус, Хендон, находится на расстоянии небольшой поездки на метро от центрального Лондона и Камден Тауна. Другие кампусы, находящиеся в Лондоне: Cat Hill (Кэт Хилл), Trent Park (Трент Парк), Enfield (Энфилд), Archway (Арчуэй) и больницы.
