All manner of physical effects including pyrotechnics, atmospherics, prosthetics and special effects make-up: blue/green screen; models/miniatures; motion capture; CGI; planning, budgeting, storyboarding and pre-visualisation; students work on a large number of NFTS films and television projects.

Вступительные требования

Students require a mixture of creative, technical and management skills; relevant industry knowledge is beneficial; background in a related field in the arts, games or other media, and technically and operationally competent in the use of computers; recent graduates and industry professional accepted; applications should be supported by a critical analysis of the use of special and/or visual effects in a film or television programme of your choice plus a portfolio/examples of work: this need not demonstrate experience in effects and is optional for those who do not have a background in film/television.

Course offers the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of a wide range of effects techniques; it includes extensive and practical training, both on set and in a digital lab environment, and is tutored by current industry practitioners; extremely practical programme in which students spend almost as much time on set as in front of a computer, working on a series of modules designed to develop creative and technical skills.
