This programme offers an opportunity to gain qualified teacher status carrying credits towards a Master's level programme; students are based in a school of their choice from a national consortium of around 45 schools; the course prepares students to teach Early Years Foundation Stage and/or the National Curriculum across the primary phase; there is a strong emphasis on giving students the knowledge and understanding to secure pupils’ progress in the core subjects, English, science and mathematics; the course also enables students to concentrate on improving their knowledge and understanding in 1 of the subjects of the curriculum as a specialism, in order to develop expertise that lays the foundations of preparation for a post of responsibility in a primary school; the course includes 2 30-credit Master's level modules which may count towards a Master's programme.
