In term 1 students explore and experience all areas of art and design: Graphic design; photography; fine art; illustration; textiles; fashion; 3-dimensional design; ceramics; visual studies; life drawing; and contextual studies; at the end of this exploratory stage students are able to identify which discipline suits them best and make an informed decision before going on to specialise in that area; in term 2, specialist studio space is provided and students able to fully develop their chosen area of practice and prepare for University applications; the self-initiated final major project is a confirmation of the student's choice of specialism and their achievements are celebrated with a final diploma exhibition.
