Typical optional modules include the European Union as an international actor; democracy in divided societies: ethnicity, power sharing and international mediation; Africa: the politics of international development; international relations theory; the state in the international political economy; American foreign policy; the politics of global change; theories and theorists of international political economy; political philosophy of international relations; transitional justice; critical geopolitics; globalisation, poverty and development; global justice and human rights.
