Compulsory modules (60 credits); optional modules (60 credits); and either a dissertation on a theoretical aspect of translating or interpreting or a project (60 credits); compulsory modules cover: Advanced Chinese or Japanese for translators and interpreters; or advanced English for translators and interpreters; translating; translation studies; research methods in translating and interpreting; professional issues in translating and interpreting.

Graduate Diploma in Translating; for advanced MA entry students should have: 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent GPA in translating or interpreting with satisfactory marks in: interpreting; translating; and the 2nd working language; or substantial professional experience; applicants have expert 2nd-language knowledge; for non-native speakers of English IELTS 7.5 with no less than 7.0 in all sub-skills is required; no alternative is accepted; interview.
