Compulsory modules (70 credits) may include: Marine electro-technology; marine electrical power systems; marine electric propulsion; marine machinery systems; ship propulsion; data analysis and interpretation; research skills; optional modules (30 credits) typically include: marine production technology; ship performance at sea; optimal marine design; marine management technology; surveying ships and offshore installations; marine power transmission; preliminary year: provides students with the necessary knowledge to study at Master’s level: students select 1 module (20 credits) from: marine engineering design; marine design; offshore design; small craft design; plus 70 credits of optional modules and complete a project and report (30 credits).

2:1 Honours degree, or equivalent, in engineering or another relevant subject; applicants whose 1st language is not English are required to hold IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based), or equivalent.
