The course comprises taught modules (90 credits); and a research project (90 credits), which can be laboratory- or social-science based; taught modules cover: Human molecular genetics and bioinformatics; clinical genetics and cytogenetics; developmental and cancer genetics; animal models of disease; applied human genetics and genetic counselling; and ethical issues in medical genetics.

2:1 Honours degree in genetics or related biological science degree; or completion of the 4th year of the MBBS or BDS programme; or the international equivalent; where 1st language is not English IELTS 7.0; TOEFL 100 (Internet-based) or 600 (paper-based); or equivalent; applicants with a minimum of IELTS 6.5 areaccepted on condition that they undertake a 5 week pre-sessional English Language course.
