Period and regional specialisms are from: The Mesolithic/Neolithic transition to the end of the Early Bronze Age in Britain and North West Europe; the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age in Cyprus and the Near East; the Iron Age/Roman transition; Roman Britain and Europe; Roman provincial slavery; Roman/Byzantine urbanism and frontier societies and the Roman/medieval transition; early medieval Britain and Ireland; medieval and later historic landscapes; church archaeology; post-medieval colonialism and slavery; archaeology of North East England and South West Britain. Thematic specialisms are from the archaeology of the body and mortuary archaeology; human bioarchaeology including osteology and palaeopathology; personhood and identity; landscape archaeology; historic landscape characterisation; monuments and ritual landscapes; prehistoric cosmology and religion; frontier societies and cultural contact; ancient technology and economy; artefact analysis and material culture studies; art and identity; archaeology and anthropology; archaeology and history.
