Students must attend practical tutorial sessions at local stables: the college currently use stables in Caithness, Sutherland, Isle of Skye (which also covers the Western Isles), Orkney, Inverness, Aberdeenshire, Wester Ross, Fife, Angus, East Lothian and Moray; interactive multimedia is used to deliver the course in an open learning format; units on nutrition; management of the horse (youngstock and for competition); and supervision and management.
