You should meet or exceed these minimum high school expectations. Math—eight semesters English—eight semesters Lab science—six semesters (2 must be chemistry for Engineering applicants) Social studies—six semesters SAT or ACT scores with writing is strongly encouraged for international citizens. International citizens who submit an exceptional SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing(new), SAT Critical Reading(old), or ACT English score may be exempt from submitting additional scores. Generally, an exceptional score is within the top 15 percentile. TOEFL 80 iBT or higher. *In general, subscores are 20 or higher per section. In general, applicants have an overall score of 6.5 or higher with at least a 6.0 in each section. SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing(new) - top 15 percentile SAT Critical Reading(old) - top 15 percentile. ACT: English - top 15 percentile.

Civil engineers design, construct, and maintain society’s infrastructure: bridges, dams and levees, harbors, waterways and irrigation facilities; water supply systems; contaminant flows, waste treatment facilities, and air and geoenvironmental remediation; airports, highways, railroads, and intelligent transportation systems; pipelines; and power lines. Purdue’s curriculum accommodates civil engineering’s breadth by requiring a fundamental set of courses and offering you the flexibility to concentrate portions of your study in areas of special interest to you. The program prepares you to enter into the professional practice of civil engineering and provides you a solid base for graduate study and research in your area of professional interest.

Расположение

Purdue's campus is situated in the small city of West Lafayette, near the western bank of the Wabash River, across which sits the larger city of Lafayette. Academic buildings are mostly concentrated on the eastern and southern parts of campus, with residence halls and intramural fields to the west, and athletic facilities to the north. The Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corporation (CityBus) operates eight campus loop bus routes on which students, faculty, and staff can ride free of charge with Purdue Identification.

The main campus in West Lafayette offers more than 200 majors for undergraduates, over 70 master’s and doctoral programs, and professional degrees in pharmacy and veterinary medicine. In addition, Purdue has 18 intercollegiate sports teams and more than 900 student organizations.
