Year 1: Inter-professional education (IPE); audiology and audiological acoustics; introduction to linguistics and BSL (British sign language); structure and development of language; psychology; study and information technology skills; research methods; anatomy and physiology for hearing and speech. Year 2: IPE; hearing therapy, tinnitus and counselling; audiological assessment of children and basic paediatric amplification; psychoacoustics; audiological and vestibular diagnostic assessment; digital hearing instruments; neurological foundations of communication; cognitive psychology; sociology of health and illness; pathophysiology of the auditory and vestibular systems. Year 3: IPE; clinical work placements; preparation for research. Year 4: IPE; public sector management; Honours project; elective modules in, for example: advanced paediatric audiology; neo-natal hearing screening; clients with special needs; advanced paediatric amplification; vestibular rehabilitation and advanced diagnostic assessment; advanced hearing therapy; tinnitus, hyperacusis and obscure auditory dysfunction; evoked potentials; vestibular function assessment; mental health and counselling; advanced digital hearing aid fitting; business management; educational audiology and advanced BSL.

Course develops strong practical skills alongside a sound understanding of the theory of audiology; the clinical studies area is central and includes some clinical placement in every year of the course, although the main focus is in Year 3; Year 4 allows students to study selected subjects in greater detail and has a strong research focus.
