Course is specifically designed for those working in the food industry; single modules are available as part of a continuing professional development programme; course offers work-based students the opportunity to study in their own environment with the help of a facilitator/lecturer; teaching is organised in a variety of ways to meet the demands of the subject and to expose the student to a range of learning opportunities; these range from formal lectures and practical sessions to discussion seminars and individual tutorials; exercises and learning tasks are built into each module to support the development of the academic skills needed for successful and efficient study; students are taught through a mixture of intensive study including face-to-face, workshops in the student's place of work or at regional centres including the College, practical sessions, directed study of a core textbook, and via the internet.
