The Professional Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering (M.M.E.) is designed for those who wish to join the workforce as practicing professionals, rather than pursing a research-oriented academic career. The M.M.E. program is designed to prepare students with an advanced understanding of both the theories and applications of mechanical engineering in areas of research expertise of the faculty. Mechanical engineering students at Rice are members of a highly selective academic community who take interesting, relevant and challenging courses from faculty who are at the top of their fields.

Расположение

Houston has two airports: William P. Hobby (HOU), 11 miles to the south of campus and George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), 24 miles to the north. Intercontinental is a hub of global travel. Hobby is a hub for regional, domestic travel. Together they offer 1,000 flights a day in and out of Houston.


Most major rental car companies have locations at both airports. SuperShuttle and taxis provide ground transportation services from both airports.


The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, (METRO) provides bus and rail service from destinations around Houston. There is a METRORail stop across the street from the main entrance of the Rice campus. The rail line travels up and down Main Street, serving downtown, the Texas Medical Center and Reliant Park.
