In general, applicants should have at least a 3.00 (B) grade point average, or the equivalent, in undergraduate work. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (minimum 151 quantitative, 150 verbal). TOEFL scores if the applicant's native language is not English (a TOEFL score of 600 or higher on the paper test or 90 or higher on the iBT version is required for admission to Rice), or IELTS score in lieu of TOEFL (an IELTS score of 7 or greater is required).

Расположение

Houston has two airports: William P. Hobby (HOU), 11 miles to the south of campus and George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), 24 miles to the north. Intercontinental is a hub of global travel. Hobby is a hub for regional, domestic travel. Together they offer 1,000 flights a day in and out of Houston.


Most major rental car companies have locations at both airports. SuperShuttle and taxis provide ground transportation services from both airports.


The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, (METRO) provides bus and rail service from destinations around Houston. There is a METRORail stop across the street from the main entrance of the Rice campus. The rail line travels up and down Main Street, serving downtown, the Texas Medical Center and Reliant Park.
