Year 1: Art history; early and high renaissance art and architecture; a range of options (including photography). Year 2: Modernity and modern Art (Europe and America); land in art: Britain from 1750-1950; art after 1950; elective Museum or Gallery placement (optional single subject students only); special Study option: the arts of Asia Africa the americas or oceania. Year 3: Cultures of display (a museum studies based course); women and visual culture in early Renaissance Italy; research dissertation (on a subject agreed in consultation with your tutor); in addition to a special Study option: the arts of Asia; Africa the americas or oceania.

The syllabus includes introductions to Renaissance art in Italy (including painting, sculpture and architecture) to British art in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries (including landscape art) to the French impressionists and Pre-Raphaelites; as well as the art of modern and contemporary Europe and America.
