Participation in all first term acting classes; working with a design student on a design project; developing rehearsal methods, theatre history and theatre producing; working with writers and new writing; technical attachment to a RADA production; at least 1 attachment as assistant to a 3rd year RADA production; production of play with professional actors in RADA theatre space; attachment as assistant in professional theatre company or production.

1st degree in arts based subject or technical theatre or acting training plus some external theatre directing experience or extensive professional experience.

The course concentrates on the practice of theatre direction with a strong underlying theoretical component; it aims to prepare students for working in professional theatre and to encourage exceptional new talents to develop their own vision for the theatre of the future; there is special emphasis on training to understand the acting process and to develop particular methods for working with actors in rehearsal; also to develop understanding of both creative and technical aspects of theatre production.
