The programme is structured around 2 complementary pathways, 1 for actors and 1 for directors; 2 complementary genre-based strands of new writing and classical text; and 1 unifying strand of professional practice; all aspects of the programme are focused on enabling the student to develop his or her professional practice as an individual artist, and to establish a network of professional contacts to promote the further development of their career on or before graduation; the programme uses the term ‘professional practice’ to embrace all aspects of the actor’s or director’s ‘toolkit’, including the full range of intellectual, analytical and practical skills, knowledge and understanding appropriate for the pursuit of a successful career in professional theatre and related creative industries.
