The first year will provide students with a general introduction to the basic principles and skills related to digital media in specific areas including: manipulation of still images; post and pre-production of film; target audiences; practical skills development; basic animation techniques: the course also includes a work-based module that helps students develop an awareness of the working environment. The second year builds on these skills and provides an understanding of: the social impact of digital media; the concept of producing students own products; advanced multi-media techniques; modelling and animating within 3D software; the second year also includes a live brief within the work placement and how to implement all skills in a multi-media showcase.

The course will provide students with an all round understanding of the creative and commercial applications of Digital Media, putting them in a very good position for entry into the final year of a related degree programme, or entry into work through a related creative industry i.e television, video, animation, web design or media marketing.
