Year 3: Making magazines; work experience for sport writers; radio and television journalism; sport policy; sociology of sport; plus 1option from: radio and television journalism; news and journalism 1; sports journalism; media and public relations; sport and the law; event organisation; personal training for special conditions 1; sport massage; language; curriculum plus. Year 4: Magazine journalism major project (either practical journalism or a theoretical piece); contemporary sports issues; plus 2 options from: news and journalism 2; photojournalism; broadcast magazine news; sport tourism; sport development; applied sports psychology; personal training for special conditions 2; sport conditioning; marketing communications and strategy; small business enterprise; language; curriculum plus.

Students train as a sports journalist, whilst learning about coaching and the organisation of sport; practical study, including print-based and on-line journalism as well as radio and video commentary, is underpinned by the sociological and cultural study of current sport and sports policy; course includes a foundation year designed for students seeking to improve their English-language skills and gain training for the practical areas of academic life in the UK.
