The course places emphasis on personal expression and communication through relating to cultural and social issues; it encourages engagement with conventional and digital technologies; students select own subject matter for assignments through approaches including reportage, conceptual, landscape and portraiture; the course is delivered through a series of practical and theoretical assignments supported by lectures, workshops, demonstrations and frequent work-in-progress tutorials; the course is continually assessed, culminating in academic research project and exhibition of photographic work.
