Course is a competence-based qualification aimed at people who already hold a managers/deputy managers post in an adult care service; it enables students to gain a nationally-recognised qualification in care management that is mandatory for some managers under the national minimum standards for care (e.g. managers of nursing and residential homes); the award is achieved by building a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates understanding of the principles of good practice and competence in the areas indicated in each unit.
