The programme is taught within the context of general theory and methods in human geography and international development; the programme adopts an interdisciplinary approach, drawing on demography, geography, political science, history, anthropology and sociology, and presents case study material from sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America; course focuses on causes and patterns of forced migration, political and policy responses to global refugee flows at the international, supra-national and national levels, and the legal and human rights framework for international refugee protection; population dynamics - through analysis of the determinants of population change in the context of current theoretical and methodological debates on fertility; and of the demographic and wider social and economic impact of HIV and AIDS; the evolution of international and national population policies in the context of changing discourses on population and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Университет Суонси расположен на побережье залива Суонси, на юго-западе Уэльса, и окружен живописной парковой зоной и ботаническими садами. Из окон нашего кампуса открывается захватывающий вид на море, при этом у нас отличное транспортное сообщение с городом Суонси, оживленным центром с развитой культурной жизнью.
