Year 1: Modules are designed to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding in sports coaching, teaching physical education in schools and sports development; students also do coaching work with adults and children; modules include: the introduction of sports science principles to fitness and health; foundations of coaching practice and the development of sport. Year 2: Modules address the learning process in education, research and analysis in physical education and sport, whilst examining coaching theory and methods; students can gain NGB coaching awards, and have the opportunity to enjoy placements, including opportunities to work in the USA. Year 3: The year includes crucial compulsory modules in 'leadership' and 'assessing, profiting and sharing quality provision'; students can also choose 2 modules to suit their interests and have an opportunity to write a 10,000 word dissertation.
