All years: Painting and text; printmaking and book arts; performance and video art; sculpture and installation; development of studio practice; art historical and critical studies; sourcing; contextualisation and exploration; comprehension; development and presentation; professional practice; information technology and careers; an individual project; a collaborative project; students are encouraged to investigate and liaise with all areas of the fine arts sector in order to contextualise study and promote future career aspirations; there are opportunities for internships, industry-based visits and projects which can be credited as part of students’ studies.

This degree is designed to provide students with opportunities to explore all these possibilities; the degree is structured to provide coherent discussion and guidance to help students gain confidence and see clear aims, principles, qualities and directions in their work; the degree covers a range of fine art practice, including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture as well as creative and analytical thinking, problem solving, communication and critical judgement; discussions and demonstrations set the scene for activities and practical studio work with a large emphasis on independent work; alongside practical activities there are seminars, theoretical debates and study visits; application deadline: March 2010.
