This is an ideas-based, multi-disciplinary course, encouraging practice-based learning; it promotes a wide ranging exploration of ideas and techniques, within and across art discipline boundaries, allowing the student to gain conceptual and technical skills which can have a wide and flexible range of real-world applications in employments within the visual arts and creative media industries; the principal aim of this programme is to prepare students for continuing personal and professional development in the field of visual art and professional practice; by the end of the programme, students are able to: develop the imagination, skills and knowledge necessary to create works of art; to explore and apply aesthetic values and utilise research methods to further an understanding of creative art and it’s application in a range of professional contexts; display understanding of the value of an informed, flexible approach to problem-solving, and apply a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary approach to study and practice; articulate and synthesise their knowledge and understanding, attributes and skills in effective ways in the contexts of further study, research, creative practice, employment and self-fulfilment.
