All modules are practice based and utilise industry-standard hardware and software; the modules have all been designed to connect the theoretical and practical elements of the broadcast media field; the combination of industry-standard equipment, teaching inputs from industry professionals, links with major broadcast media organisations and the assessment structure allows students to experience many of the conditions of the industry so that they graduate with relevant skills and have realistic expectations of the types of employment available to them; modules include: advanced scriptwriting; advanced film/television production; audio production and sound design; digital media content: design, production and broadcast; specialised production role: show reel; final individual project.

This course provides students who have completed a foundation degree programme in media production the opportunity to develop a range of critical, creative, technical and professional skills relevant to entering employment within the broadcasting industry at graduate level; 3 specialist areas are available (radio, television or film) and students are also able to focus in a media production role, such as director, producer, editor, or camera operator in the 2nd semester; this ensures that they graduate with a relevant showreel demonstrating their portfolio of media skills; broadcasting companies, media professionals, and industry practitioners contribute to the development and the delivery of the course; the school is an Avid Academic Partner and the scheme offers students the chance to use and become certified in industry standard technology and to take advantage of Avid's close links with media production companies.
