War, politics, great leaders, slavery, revolutions, film, genocide, heritage, terrorism, the lives of the poor: these are just a few of the subjects covered by the history programme; this degree looks at the histories of Britain, Europe and the Americas from the 1600s to the modern day; while studying English students read some of the most interesting and exciting books ever written whilst learning to engage with new ideas and new ways of reading; the course encourages students to think critically, communicate effectively, articulate their ideas clearly and succinctly and share opinions collaboratively.
