The course comprises specialist taught units in the 1st semester; combinations of taught units and a group design project during the 2nd semester; and a research project leading to the submission of a dissertation for the remainder of the course.

2:1 degree; or internationally recognised equivalent; in mechanical engineering; where English is not 1st language IELTS 6.5: not less than 6.0 in each component; TOEFL 580 (paper-based test); or 237 (computer-based test): not less than 4 in the TWE or 92 (internet-based test): not less than 21 in each component

The course develops a critical understanding of the uncertainty, ambiguity and limits of knowledge and how these may affect analyses of, and solutions to, engineering problems; develops the ability to apply the concepts and principles of mechanical engineering science to the solution of engineering problems in complex (both familiar and unpredictable) professional and research environments; enables students to employ a range of techniques to review and critically analyse information concerning engineering problems and to propose and implement solutions in a professional manner

Расположение

Город Бат расположен на юго-западе Англии, в полутора часах езды от Лондона на поезде. Это интересный, элегантный живой город, который входит в тройку городов мира, включенных в список всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.


Пригороды Бата великолепны, там находится множество интересных мест. Из Бата легко добраться до Стоунхенджа, Солсбери, Уэлса, Гластонбери, ущелья Чеддер, Оксфорда и Бристоля.


Университет находятся примерно в полутора километрах от города Бат. Автобусы часто курсируют между кампусом, городом и основными местами проживания студентов, так что студенты всегда могут добраться до работы, до дома и вести активную социальную жизнь.
