The course leads students to a theoretical and practical understanding of how software tools are constructed; customised and operated; combined with a critical understanding of how they contribute to current design practices; this is achieved through a combination of: A case-study; supervised reading; lecture units; and a challenging practical project; the latter culminates in a written thesis describing the research leading to a software prototype, and its use to tacklea realistic design problem.

2:1 degree; or internationally recognised equivalent; in architecture; engineering; computer science; or equivalent; where English is not 1st language IELTS 7.0: not less than 6.5 in each component; TOEFL 600 (paper-based test); or 250 (computer-based test): not less than 4 in the TWE or 100 (internet-based test): not less than 24 in each component.

The course encourages Computer Aided Design (CAD) approaches which span the disciplines of: Computational geometry; parametric modelling; computer graphics; architecture; structural engineering; and environmental design; prepares students for practice or alternatively for doctoral research in Computer-Aided Architectural Design.

Расположение

Город Бат расположен на юго-западе Англии, в полутора часах езды от Лондона на поезде. Это интересный, элегантный живой город, который входит в тройку городов мира, включенных в список всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.

Пригороды Бата великолепны, там находится множество интересных мест. Из Бата легко добраться до Стоунхенджа, Солсбери, Уэлса, Гластонбери, ущелья Чеддер, Оксфорда и Бристоля.

Университет находятся примерно в полутора километрах от города Бат. Автобусы часто курсируют между кампусом, городом и основными местами проживания студентов, так что студенты всегда могут добраться до работы, до дома и вести активную социальную жизнь.
