Bachelor degree at the Faculty of Philosophy/ Faculty of Arts and Humanities, where English Studies was either a major or minor subject of studies.
Applicants for the Master of Arts (M.A.) programme “Applied Linguistics” have to submit proof that they have obtained a reasonable amount of credit points in English and linguistic studies, i.e. you should have acquired a minimum of 36 credit points in the following areas:
English language practice (minimum of 18 credit points)
Basics of English linguistics
Applied Linguistics; A fair knowledge of the German language (DSH 1, TestDaf TDN 4, or a similar qualification) is also necessary.
Our Master of Arts (M.A.) degree conveys basic knowledge of linguistic theories, empiric, and experimental methods, as well as suitable approaches for analysis. It is also established to enhance your skills in communication, constructive criticism, and team-building. These goals enable students to professionally discuss theoretical and methodological positions, to argue for their own positions, and to then adequately work on their questions.
