The principal admission requirement for the M.Sc. program is the a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in biology, biomedicine, medicine, chemistry, or related fields. The bachelor thesis must be graded with ECTS grade A (German grade 1,0 - 1,5).
All courses are held in English. Applicants who are not native speakers of English should demonstrate adequate competence of the English language by acceptable results on an internationally recognized test. Minimum language requirements are met by achieving the following test scores:
TOEFL paper-based test: 550,
TOEFL computer-based test: 213
TOEFL internet-based test: 87-109
Main topics of the LIMES Master program are chemical biology, membrane and lipid biochemistry, immune & cell biology and developmental biology & genetics. The program allows the students to get insights in the study of key regulators involved in metabolic processes and diseases such as diabetes, obesity, lipodystrophies or autoimmunity in different model organisms (fruit fly, zebrafish, mouse). By the individual choice of their research projects, students are able to focus their education on one of these scientific topics self-dependently.
