Вступительные требования

Applicants to the Master of Urban Design (MUD) program must hold a professional degree in architecture, landscape architecture or planning. While a majority of applicants applying to the program will already have a graduate-level degree, it is recognized that a proportion of applicants will have achieved the minimum standard through an accredited professional undergraduate program. Bakalavr, Diplom ob Okanchanii Vysshego Uchebnogo Zaredeniia (Diploma Specialist); at least four years of study. Grade of 4 on a 5-point scale. TOEFL score of at least 100 iBT, IELTS 6,5. Applicants need to submit a portfolio with six examples of creative works chosen to demonstrate aptitude, experience, and accomplishment.

The Master of Urban Design (MUD) is an intensive, 11-month, 36-credit, studio-based degree program for full time students with previous professional degrees in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and/or Planning. The core courses consist of three sequential design studios organized around a progression of more intimate urban design scale—the region, the district, and the local. These studio courses constitute the core of our instruction. The studio courses are supported by three theoretical and practice-skills courses. All core courses are restricted to students enrolled in the MUD program, providing an intimate student-teacher ratio. To maintain a robust commitment to the program’s learning objectives, the three elective courses allow students to focus on areas of specific interest. In the final summer term, students will complete an issues-based design project with both collaborative and independent components.

Расположение

Два основных кампуса UBC расположены в Ванкувере и в городе Келоун в долине Оканаган. Кроме того, в Ванкувере находится площадь Робсон (UBC Robson Square) – оживленный учебный центр в самом сердце города. UBC Learning Exchange – инициатива по налаживанию общественной вовлеченности, которая реализуется в одном из районов Ванкувера, Downtown Eastside. Центр Цифрового мультимедиа университета UBC (Centre for Digital Media) расположен в кампусе Великий Северный Путь (Great Northern Way Campus), в районе Ванкувера Mount Pleasant.
