This course should interest those students with a previous degree in sports science or related subject, wishing to develop therapeutic skills appropriate to use within a sport and exercise background; it is designed to build upon and synthesise the understanding graduates have in principles of sports science and fitness training, with the addition of therapeutic and rehabilitation skills necessary to become a sports therapist ;the course has been developed with the Society of Sports Therapists; successful completion enables full membership of the society and hence the professional indemnity insurance necessary for practice; the aim of the course is to synthesise therapeutic skills in: Sports first aid, soft tissue massage, the early management of injury, exercise and rehabilitation, manual therapy and electrotherapy, with previous sports and exercise knowledge; the course has both theoretical and practical content with various methods of assessment; students are able to work in the University Sports Clinic.

Расположение

Город Престон является культурной столицей графства Ланкашир и связан с остальными частями страны отличной системой автодорожного, железнодорожного и авиасообщения. Университет расположен в 10 минутах ходьбы от главной железнодорожной станции. Дорога на поезде от Престона до Манчестера занимает 45 минут, до Лондона – 2 часа 15 минут, а до Ливерпуля – 1 час. До аэропортов Манчестера, Ливерпуля и Блэкпула также легко добраться.
