Years 1 and 2: These years typically involve: self-directed practical work with full tutorial support in: painting; sculpture; textiles; printmaking; design for digital media; mixed-media; research and drawing-based activities are encouraged as part of a self-reflexive focus on personal artistic development; workshop skills development in: painting; textiles; sculpture; printmaking and/or design for digital media; workshop choices are driven by a desire to specialise or to mix disparate processes and media; critical and contextual studies: modernism and post-modernism from the perspective of the visual arts and cultural theory. Year 3: This year typically involves: development of a coherent body of work for public exhibition at the degree show; a written dissertation or a vocational project offering work experience with an external organisation (ie gallery) or a self-directed real-world project, eg: commissions; educational workshops with schools; residencies; community arts projects; website construction etc.

Students can either specialise from the outset or can experiment with a wide range of disciplines and media before committing to a particular approach in level 3; students are encouraged to experiment with diverse methodologies in the search for a personal artistic vision; the following routes are available: painting; textiles; general fine art; sculpture; printmaking; design for digital media; students can develop selected skills in: drawing; painting; printmaking; digital photography; digital media; welding; bronze or aluminium casting; carving; plaster; ceramics; woven and printed textiles; felt-making; embroidery and/or paper making; application deadline: March 2010.

Расположение

Университет расположен на территории двух студенческих городков, что предоставляет студентам возможность окунуться в активную жизнь богатого историей города Чичестера и в то же время насладиться отдыхом на побережье морского курорта Bognor Regis, где расположен второй кампус Университета. До обоих городов можно легко добраться на поезде или автомобильным транспортом. В каждом городе недалеко от студенческих городков есть железнодорожные станции и автобусные остановки.
