Students complete modules which extend their subject knowledge giving them the ability to teach the National Curriculum in PE covering areas related to: games; gymnastics; dance; swimming; athletics; outdoor adventurous activities; students also cover stimulating cross-disciplinary areas such as: exercise physiology and health; skill acquisition and psychology of coaching; social and cultural issues; principles of movement and skills of observation; aesthetic and creative movement; philosophical perspectives; education and professional issues; school experience forms a vital part of the programme where students have the opportunity to develop their teaching in partnership schools in their 2nd, 3rd and final years, under the supervision of mentors and professional tutors across the 11 to 18 year age range.

Physical Education (PE) is an important component of the curriculum in schools and is also available for study at both GCSE and A2 level; the subject itself has absorbed the implications of the developments in education, including curriculum development, the national curriculum and the changing context of schooling; furthermore, the training and development agency report on curriculum and standards of new teachers has examined what should be taught and why and how it can most effectively be taught; this has influenced the preparation of students training as physical education teachers.

Расположение

Университет расположен на территории двух студенческих городков, что предоставляет студентам возможность окунуться в активную жизнь богатого историей города Чичестера и в то же время насладиться отдыхом на побережье морского курорта Bognor Regis, где расположен второй кампус Университета. До обоих городов можно легко добраться на поезде или автомобильным транспортом. В каждом городе недалеко от студенческих городков есть железнодорожные станции и автобусные остановки.
