Year 3: Intermediate Arabic; readings in modern Arabic; themes in the Arabic short story; themes in modern Arabic poetry; plus 3 free-choice modules from the wide selection available. Year 4: Advanced Arabic; readings in pre-modern Arabic; classical narrative prose; dissertation; plus 2 free-choice modules.

No previous knowledge of Arabic is required; this is a language-based degree that provides students with a thorough understanding of the culture and literature of the Arab peoples; compulsory language modules are followed over the 4 years of the degree, including the year abroad, and there are also compulsory modules on Arab literature and on Islam and Arab history.

Расположение

В Эксетерском университете имеется три академгородка, два из которых – Стритхемпский и Святого Луки – расположены в городе Эксетер (графство Девон) и один – Пенринский – расположен в городке Пенрин (графство Корнуолл).

Центр Эксетера – культурной столицы юго-запада Англии – находится в двадцати минутах ходьбы от Стритхемпского академгородка. В городе много музеев, исторических достопримечательностей, магазинов, кафе, ресторанов и ночных клубов.
