Year 1: Core engineering; professional studies and skills development (including design activities, laboratory and workshop exercises); engineering mathematics. Year 2: Modules in the areas of: microprocessors; mathematical modelling; professional studies; and management science; plus more specialised electronic engineering modules. Year 3: This year includes an individual project that may be undertaken abroad; specialised electronic engineering modules continue through the year. Year 4: This year includes a substantial interdisciplinary group project, industrial case studies and independent study in advanced aspects of electronic engineering.

The core course is common to the 1st year of all the University's engineering programmes and provides students with technical, professional and communication skills from across the whole spectrum of engineering, providing the foundation for specialisation in the next years; all students undertake projects in the 1st and 2nd years and a separate individual project module in the 3rd year.

Расположение

В Эксетерском университете имеется три академгородка, два из которых – Стритхемпский и Святого Луки – расположены в городе Эксетер (графство Девон) и один – Пенринский – расположен в городке Пенрин (графство Корнуолл).

Центр Эксетера – культурной столицы юго-запада Англии – находится в двадцати минутах ходьбы от Стритхемпского академгородка. В городе много музеев, исторических достопримечательностей, магазинов, кафе, ресторанов и ночных клубов.
