Education studies The course is structured in keeping with the University’s positive stance on inclusivity which requires an examination and critical debate of what is the nature of learning and education (making the course accessible to a wide community, catering for the individual needs of all the potential students) and how this concept has influenced practice: past, present and future; optional modules enable the student to follow their own individual interests and career choices; modules may include: e-learning; inclusive education; education in and for society; thinking to learn: learning to think; partnership and participation in education; educational research. Psychology Introductory modules in the programme offer a broad overview of the subject and psychological research methods; as the student progresses they may be able to choose from a range of specialised topics focused around their interests; modules may include: biological bases of behaviour; psychology and society; perception learning and memory; abnormal psychology; psychology of sex and gender; thinking and reasoning.

The education studies programme is designed to encourage and support deep learning about the world of education; the way knowledge is transmitted, learnt and applied has been and is changing with the increase of new technologies and changing perceptions about what constitutes knowledge; this course examines and analyses the theories, values, policies and practices which underpin approaches to education for all, both in the United Kingdom and beyond; the psychology course gives the student a solid grounding in the theories and issues of modern psychology and embraces practical and theoretical work; the student gains hands-on experience in conducting research and experimentation.

Расположение

Три университетских кампуса располагаются на территории Regency Cheltenham. Один из них – кампус Oxstalls – находится всего в нескольких минутах ходьбы от исторического центра города Глостер.
