Bachelor’s degree of at least 2.5. Applicants with a degree up to 3.0 must take an additional verbal test.A sound knowledge of English (scientific English) is recommended as several optional courses are given in English. You can apply for the master’s programme if you have successfully completed a bachelor’s programme in chemistry of a standard period of study of six semesters with a total of 180 credits. You may also apply if you have earned at least 150 credits in such a bachelor’s programme; in that case the average mark will be calculated based on the credits earned so far. Applicant’s proficiency is DSH 2 level or higher.

Students on the Master's degree programme at Göttingen can select from all the many facets of Chemistry. The programme is strongly research-oriented and offers an optimal grounding for doctoral studies. From the varied range of courses, a study programme can be built up from largely individual foci: This extends from a broad overview of Chemistry to profiles such as Catalytic Chemistry, Biomolecular Chemistry and Energy Transformation.
