This programme enables students to: use the principles of animation to produce professional results; design, develop and create original computer animation (2-dimensional and 3-dimensional); create and edit digital video and sound for CD and DVD; explore future trends and developments in the creative industries; control digital media using programming skills; communicate effectively with business, computing and design professionals; use industry software to a professional level. Year 1: Typical modules: Multimedia production; visual studies and web media; multimedia computing and programming; concepts of animation. Year 2: typical modules: multimedia production; computers and music; 3-dimensional animation; plus option. Year 3: optional sandwich year (work placement). Final year: individual project; 3-dimensional interactive environments; advanced modelling and character animation; plus option.
