Вступительные требования

All applicants to the Illinois School of Architecture whose native language is not English must submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores. The School requires a minimum score of 590 on the paper-based test, or 243 on the computer-based test, or 96 on the internet-based test. The Graduate College of the University of Illinois also accepts IELTS (academic exam) score in lieu of TOEFL, with a minimum score of 6.5 and 6.5 in all sub-sections required. Applicants must have earned at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college in the United States or a comparable degree from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad. A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (A=4.0), or comparable GPA for an international applicant, for last two years of undergraduate study is a minimum requirement for admission. The two-year professional degree program, intended for students entering with a four-year baccalaureate in architectural studies, emphasizes further study in architectural disciplines, study in depth in one optional area of specialization, and/or participation in research. The two-year graduate program is comprised of advanced study in architectural disciplines, building upon the fundamentals established in a four-year undergraduate study program. Students may elect to concentrate in any one of the areas of specialization including Design, Structures, Technology, History and Preservation as well as newly developing areas of research by taking additional courses in those areas.

The university is in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana (total population 207,000) in east-central Illinois, in the northeastern United States. Situated about 140 miles south of Chicago, 125 miles west of Indianapolis, and 180 miles northeast of St. Louis.


Illinois' architecture and landscape present an inspiring environment to learn and enjoy life. 647 Total buildings of the University are located on 18,4 square km.


Illinois is home to two National Historic Landmarks and several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Among Illinois' campus landmarks are many historical cultural places: Allerton Park and Retreat Center, Altgeld Hall, Alma Mater, Astronomical Observatory.


Library items mark one of the largest public university libraries in the world. There are more than 20 area studies libraries, including one of the larger engineering libraries in the country. The university has a National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) - one of the leading centers in the United States on the development of high-performance computing systems. Besides, UIUC is rated as one of the most "disability friendly" U.S. campuses.
