The course draws together a practical understanding of software engineering and systems with the skills of analysis and modelling to investigate particular problems in computing; theoretical computing explores the development and efficiency of algorithms which should be applied to computationally complex optimisation problems; it provides the key foundations for developments in networking, security, databases and artificial intelligence; scientific computation focuses on computational techniques and the implementation of numerical analysis for solving partial differential equations; this has applications in areas such as: combustion; atmospheric dispersion; printing on textiles; and often utilises parallel computing and grid technologies.

Расположение

Университетский городок находятся в 20 минутах ходьбы от вокзала города Лидса. Вокзал Лидса соединяет вуз со всеми крупными городами Великобритании, и имеет быстрое сообщение с Лондоном.

Лидс обслуживают два больших аэропорта: Лидс Бредфорд и Манчестер. Совершаются регулярные рейсы из множества городов Европы и мира. От аэропорта Бредфорд примерно 20 минут на такси до Университета.
