Level 1: The first year of study is designed to provide students with a broad based intensive programme that introduces the basic technical, practical and theoretical skills across the subject of interactive design; this provides the basis for informed choice of specialist study in years two and three; areas covered include: digital animation and sequential imaging; image capture; applied typography; visual studies. Level 2: It is in the second year that students will undertake more advanced study and begin to conduct their own research and develop a professional attitude towards your own practice; participation in national / international design competitions, film and animation festivals and the undertaking of live project work are encouraged. Level 3: In the third year, students will determine the nature and direction of their own work through discussion with academic staff; at this stage students will be expected to demonstrate a capacity for in-depth research and original insight, critical judgement, creativity and technical competence; the year will conclude with an end of year show that will be open to the public.

The programme aims to educate innovative problem solvers, equipping them with the necessary intellectual, practical and managerial skills that will facilitate their development as knowing and holistic communicators; students develop dynamic and memorable, creative visual responses across a number of areas including motion graphics for film and television, design for the web, environmental art-based installations and more; the programme of study encourages individuals to exploit digital technologies and traditional media in the pursuit of innovative forms of expression and communication, whilst offering students a design education that is attuned to new trends and sensitive to change.
